This online conference was organised on June 18, 2021 by the Energy Ministry of Luxembourg, IRENA and the European Investment Bank, in the context of the revision of the regulation on the trans-European networks for energy. It brought together experts from various background, political leaders, industry and civil society organisations to address those questions and discuss the future of the EU energy infrastructure. One of the questions addressed was how network planning should evolve to promote system-wide optimisation and implement the “energy efficiency first” principle.
